I would like to see what is the current content of sda5 and you did not post all asked outputs.

So get again a telnet access (but do not try to intall again the firmware) and post the output of
Code: Select all
mkdir /sda5
mount /dev/sda5 /sda5
ls -al /sda5

Do also these manual commands to see what happens
Code: Select all
busybox tftp -r firmware/NAME -l NAME -g 192.168.1.108
cat NAME
firmware=$(cat NAME)
busybox tftp -r firmware/$firmware.tar.gz -l /sda5/$firmware.tar.gz -g 192.168.1.108

Hi Jocko, I did the whole exercise again. I started XP from Virtualbox on my Windows 10 pc. Then I downloaded the rar files and extracted them. Then I started the console and used the kirkwood-standalone image. Everything went smooth and now I have access to the nas. So at first I choose the wrong image and then I had corrupted the files )-; . Thank you for your patience with me.

Hi Doppie,

if that worked with XP on the virtualbox that would mean win10 firewall blocked some sockets to upload the firmware files.

I think that extracting the rar files went wrong under windows 10. I may have ignored an error after not properly downloading the files being impatience.

No it should load in 15 seconds. If telnet client times out the you may have your firewall blocking the programs the console uses, or you are using a wireless connection between your pc and lan, or you have more then 1 network interface a ctive on your pc, disable all but one
