I disabled bonding on my 5big2 and rebooted, then no bonding driver is loaded
(no out put from command dmesg | grep bonding)

are you sure you enabled bonding in the LAN setup window of the web interface ? :tapfoot

More and more understandable...
Check if you still have run permissions on the bonding file
Code: Select all
ls -l /lib/modules/3.14.2/bonding.ko

@fvdw btw, yes, bonding was working fine pre kernel #14 install...something seems to be blocking the option on my machine with this kernel. The only thing is if it happens to me it might also happen to others...

long shot...the kernel you downloaded is corrupted in the download process

I added it again

the md5sum of the extracted kernel is
8535dbd4b99b069d0abbfffcdce7e611

you can check this if you put it on the nas root directory and then give command
Code: Select all
md5sum UIMAGE-3142-NWSP2CL-14

it should then give this reponse
8535dbd4b99b069d0abbfffcdce7e611 UIMAGE-3142-NWSP2CL-14

if you have the kernel still in the fvdw folderyou could use command
Code: Select all
md5sum /direct-usb/fvdw/UIMAGE-3142-NWSP2CL-14

if the md5sum deviates from this number then the kernel is corrupt

the file is in the fvdw folder but the command tells me it can't find it...
Code: Select all
root@lacie5big:/ # md5sum /share/1000/fvdw/UIMAGE-3142-NWSP2CL-14
md5sum: can't open '/share/1000/fvdw/UIMAGE-3142-NWSP2CL-14': No such file or directory

never mind, I'll try loading the new file you just attached...

---edit---
I had edited fvdw's post (changed the path of fvdw share)

ok I tried that also and it works on my system with kernel #14

to check md5sum of the kernel you can use this command (seems fvdw share is not on sda in your setup, or sda is not mounted on /share/1000)
Code: Select all
md5sum /direct-usb/fvdw/UIMAGE-3142-NWSP2CL-14
