web server apache on lacie nwsp v2

web server apache on lacie nwsp v2

Postby jo_neo_74 » Thu Jan 08, 2015 9:11 am

Good morning, sorry for my newbies question, but i found the answer in help file (firmware ver.16) and in a forum but i didn't find it!
I would use my lacie nwsp v2 with apache web server and my web page (create in php) with dydns to look up in internet. Actualy my web page work on another lacie (5big) with original firmware Always with dydns, but in the future, i would move on nwsp v.2.
My first question is: how i can start the web server service? Because in a general page on information section i found a grey button relative a web server service and i can't click on to start! Second question: where i must put the files for my web page? there is a specify folder?
Thanks a lot for your answer.

Hi jo_neo_74,

First, you don't have need to start the web service: this is always running (fvdw-sl web-interface requires it!).

I don't understand what grey button did you refer. Please to give more detail.

Always with dydns, but in the future, i would move on nwsp v.2.
For dyndns service no change is required except for the port 80 (or 443 if you want to use https protocol): on your router you must change how these ports are opened (toward the local IP of your nwsp2).

Create a share or a subfolder in an existing share where you will move your html/php files.

and in Putty you must create a symlink in /usr/htdocs like this
Code: Select all
ln -s /share/1000/yoursharename /usr/htdocs/mywebsite

so the url will be: http(s)://mydyndns/mywebsite.

Note at each upgrade you need to create again the symlink.

Note2: if you want use another credential (or disable this one used by fvdw-sl) you need to create a new file .htaccess in /share/1000/yoursharename. (I assume that you know what directives must be used in this file)
