Hi taetae,

Sorry, but I don't have more idea.
Do you have this issue since the first install ?

what we can try is to run the 2.6.39.4 kernel again to see if then samba works on windows explorer. I will prepare a package.
You need to run the 2.6.39.4 from loading it as external using the fvdw-sl console. The only thing we have to add are the modules for that kernel as we need them to able to run samba

Hi taetae,

IMPORTANT: Before testing, make a backup of the nas database (menu Shutdown-Restart).

I am not sure that the update disks database script can find the internal disk with this kernel version and in this case you will lost your share (but not data :whistle )
I advice also to plug no usb or esata disk at booting

so it seems that changing the kernel has influence. Need to look more closely. That dmesg would give some weird output was to be expected as the kernel is not fully compatible with 15-1. I will look at it this evening

:crazy I wrote not to plug any esata or usb disk :disapprove

But you are lucky because fvdw kept in this kernel of the namming trick for the external disks (I saw in your output is still named sef :whistle )

But I think that the esata is not mounted (udev rules fails to see the disk as an e-sata disk)

a quick look (do not have much time now, I am at work)

this is an interesting part

Code: Select all
Internal error: Oops: 5 [#1] PREEMPT
last sysfs file: /sys/devices/system/cpu/online
Modules linked in: nfsd lockd sunrpc uvcvideo v4l2_common v4l2_int_device videodev usblp fuse ntfs isofs cifs
CPU: 0    Not tainted  (2.6.39.4 #39)
PC is at tcp_v4_rcv+0x258/0x874

It indicates a ethernet communication problem

Do you get also this error when running the 3.9.5 kernel ?

no, on 3.9.5 you have not enabled this kind of debugging

you place the log that stays without printing anything on putty

known that the difference lies in the fact that there are kernel panics and the nos cmq interacts although not complete the file transfer
