I bought a sample of this device for a reasonnable price. Is there any experience/guess if fvdw firmware runs with this device? Since it has no LAN/WLAN interface integrated, my hope is to get an external WLAN dongle running. Like on NWSP2.

I did some google searches and I found nothing about this Lacie device :( maybe because it's not a network device...

Edit : as the device don't have a network port, in any how you should open it if you try to install the firmware.

So you could take pictures of the motherboard

If you know where I can connect a serial interface and check for hints there.

Matzi that doesn't seem good.

If I read well you have an
862-OXUFS936QSE-PBAG, Universal Interface to Quad SATA RAID Controller. Highlights

And I think it doesn't support network feature :

this doesn't look like a cpu to me like we have in the lacie nas devices.
Probably it is just sata-usb-esata-firewire interface like you find in other external storage devices.

If I am right then basically it means not suitable to use as nas

--edit I posted almost at same time as Jocko, I think the datasheet he posted is confirming the above conclusion

That's a shame. I checked the other big chips on the board, there are more interface chips and a PLD Device: XILINK XC9572. Whatever it does is most likely too far from the Marvell µC.
Conclusion: Nothing to play with.
