Hallo Forum,

sorry, mein English ist nicht so gut, deshalb versuche ich es mal so.
Ich habe zu meinem SPD8020 (Firmware 14.0) das Passwort vergessen und somit keinen Zugang mehr zum Web-Interface.
Gibt es eine Möglichkeit das Passwort auf den Defaultwert zurück zu setzen?

However you will need to use ssh access by using a ssh client (like Putty) running on your windows PC

nochmal vielen Dank für die schnelle Hilfe, hat alles bestens funktioniert.
Ein kleine Problem habe ich noch: Seit ich auf die Firmware 14.0 umgestiegen bin, ist immer der erste Zugriff auf eine Share extrem langsam. Alle folgenden Zugriffe sind dann deutlich schneller. Was kann ich dagegen tun?

if you have a media server running then after boot it is indexing the files that could cause the slow response. When it is fisnished it should improve.
That is loading faster second time is probably because the directory tree is still in cache in explorer.
Another reason can be if you have too many servers running at same time on the spd8020, the spd8020 has unfortunate only a small system RAM (16MB)
Then using less services at same time can improve it.

Ich hatte keinen Mediaserver laufen und außer samba auch keinerlei andere Serverdienste. Das Problem tritt auch immer nur beim ersten Zugriff auf, also wenn ich PC oder Notebook einschalte und erstmals auf eine Share des NAS zugreife. Es dauert bis zu 10 Sekunden, bis der Inhalt des entsprechenden Ordners angezeigt wird. Der weitere Zugriff auf andere Ordner der Share ist dann deutlich schneller.
Kann das damit zusammenhängen, das das Gerät erst 'aufwachen' muß, nach längerer Ruhezeit?

yes this can be the case the disk will spin down after 15 minutes of inactivity 9or shorter) if you have changed the setting.
This is done for energy consumption saving, without spinning disk the power consumption is only about 5-7 watt (with spinning disk 10 watt more)
In a year it can make about 50 kwh saving ;)
When the disk is standby it can takes 10 seconds before the disk is ready.
