Hey guys,

just upgraded to 17.0, thanks for your good work, seriously!
Read speed improved significantly!

Now, in the release notes you state
17.0.2 new features / improvements
- added support for ext4 filesystem which has a better write speed than ext3 filesystem

I couldn't find any information on the web interface stating the current filesystem, however, I suppose it's ext3.
So, do I need to reinstall the full firmware in order to format to ext4? (I'm on the lacie cloudbox)

Greetings,

Ben!

P.S.: what about
added new binaries: iperf3 (to check network speed) and mini-upnpc
? Specially the network speed check sounds interesting.

Hi Benaslan,

iperf3 is a binary using command lines to check transfer speed between 2 hosts on your LAN. We added only for user with issues about it. It is only for investigations. See google how to use it.

For ext4, you can see the current fs on a volume by using the setup disk menu and also when you open the edit volume menu (click on the volumename url).

With this last menu you can either reset the fs on the volume (and then lose all data) or convert fs to ext4

So just reset to ext4 on a cloudbox with a 3TB WD RED:

Read: 50MB/s (415MBit/s)
Write: 27MB/s (240MBit/s)

Awesome! :thumbup
