I would like a feature which makes it possible to hide a folder from the browse list.
For example: the 'minidlna' database folder.
It only contains the database and has no use to "normal" users, therefore it has no use to show it in the browse list.
grtz

In principle you are right you are right Johan and for lists like used in the mediaservers menu's they are not needed.
The reason why those shares like minidlna are made is to have easy access when you want to make some changes in settings that can not be done via the webinterface. In the early days of the this firmware the webinterface had no menu to change settings of minidlna and everything had to be done by editing the configuration file in the minidlna folder. This could be done then easily on your windows PC by opening the shared folder and edit the file.
But a feature to hide a share is a good idea I will discuss it with Jocko what the best way would be to implement it.

A bit of work to predict but it is possible: by adding a parameter "hide" in the database for the shares desired, it is easy to change the function that generates the list of shares so that it excluded those shares. Should also add an option in the "Share File menu" to display them as needed.
To be consistent to the end, we must also change the FTP server and samba to exclude also those shares. So a little more work ...
But this could be added in the todo list.

Thnxs for the explanation regarding why the "minidlna" folder shows up in the browse list.
And also nice to see that it may end up on the to-do list.
Now I wonder, what's on the to-do list, haven't looked seriously yet, but is the to-do list somewhere on this board?
