In-home-Foto-server

In-home-Foto-server

Postby JDZ01 » Tue Jul 23, 2013 7:35 pm

Hi, we are storing all our photos on the Lacie.
With W7 I can easaly view them. But on the (my wive's) Ipad it is much more difficult. Would it be possible to integrate a kind of Photo-server(viewer) in the firmware?

TIA

there are several media servers (dlna) included like twonky, minidlna, mediatomb all of these can be used to view photos.
I don't have an iPad as I don't like that apple controls what is good for e and track everything I do so never tried them with an iPad. But I think it will have an app to access this kind of servers.

ps also has the firmware the "firefly"server its an iTunes compatible server and that you should be able to access with an iPad. But I think iTunes is only for music

You must install a dlna client player on your ipad.
for example AirPlayer (not free) :https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/airplayer/id369713694?mt=8&affId=1278579&ign-mpt=uo%3D4

Read this forum for more advices about dlna player for ipad : http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1422563
