this could happen if you edited rcS using a text editor that adds a <CR> (carriage return character) after a <LF> (Linefeed)
In that case the script will not be executed, it may not contain <LF><CR> at the end of line, only <LF>

Why not use the the boot jobs feature ? then you do not need to edit rcS

:-D That works!

By playing and investigating linux and dos line ends I killed the rcS script. Had to switch to the other partition /sda2 -> sda1. Now this partition is also upgraded to 16.0. Please tell me a secret: In which partition is folder init.d located? I could not find it on all partitions sda2/sda1/sda7. Seems it is only on the boot partition, but if so - Why could I revive the device by changing its boot partition if there is only one (corrupted) rcS?

Hi matzi,

There is no secret, just look in /etc/init.d and in all partitions sda1,2,7.

Just a recent feedback, you must clean the rcS in sda7 if you also added your custom lines at the end of the file and not only in rcS of partitions sda1/2

Thanks Jocko!
It is restore on all partitions. Device works wireless also from boot on. Great stuff!

One more thing: The release notes say "- manage custom shell commands (alias) via the fvdw-sl web interface".

What does it mean? I do not see something like a putty substitute ?

In GUI, there is a sub menu of the SSH server where you can set your linux alias.

These aliases can be used only in with a shell terminal (not in a shell script)
