Hi guys,

first of all, thanks god you exist, your work is really useful!

As many users, I have a feature I'd like to have in my NAS: rsnapshot!
For those who don't know this name, is an automated and very efficient software for backup, that makes snapshots without occupy multiplied space, using links in an intelligient way.

Official link: http://www.rsnapshot.org/

It has also a web GUI: https://github.com/dobrevg/webrsnapshot

See ya!

Hi Diesel,
Jocko did a lot of good work to make rsync usable and managable by the GUI out of the box. There is no need to understand pearl or shell scripts. Please have a look at my howto.

rsync is quiet complicated to setup, if you want to set up a client server mode with an encrypted data transfer for backups over (slow) internet lines.
We don't make snapshots as described in your link, but we also keep the deleted files as long as we want.
