New user, VERY happy
Posted: Wed Sep 27, 2017 3:56 pmI spent weeks messing with my newish to me 5Big 1 when it failed, eventually I got it up and running after over writing the partitions with an image I found online, then waited on RAID building, put data on it and felt disappointed with DLNA, lack of root/ssh and the drive in general. During research for this I saw a forum post recommending fvdw-sl.
I signed up, downloaded the files, had it running in 30 minutes, stuck a new drive in, broke it.
Went to RTFM. Back to 5Big. Got it running from scratch again in 15 minutes, added new drives and currently populating them using rsync and USB drives.
I love it now. This firmware has transformed it from mediocre to excellent.
