Lacie 5Big Network?

Hi:

I've found a Lacie 5Big Network at work. I use your firmware at home and I love it, and I would like to use it in this device.

I have two problems:
1) I think there is a bad disk, I get two yellow leds, so I get always "The storage system is currently booting. When the system is ready, you will automatically be redirected to the appropriate page" message. We have another unit and the software installed is "Intel storage"

2) The box says Lace 5Big Network, but all the pics I find of this unit have a big blue ligth, but mine has 4 disk slots. The model is INNS04-4200-LAC. Is this unit supported by your firmware?

Thanks a lot

Is this the device you have ?

Then it is not a 5big but a lacie ethernet disk raid.

It seems to have an intel processor, the 5big has an arm processor.
But it runs linux so in principle it should be able to run the firmware if we can compile a kernel for it find out how the bootloader loads that kernel and root file system. Need to see if I can find anything about it on the internet

mm..if the lacie firmware still runs we could try to connect via ssh and see if we can get a linux prompt. If so we can investigate how it boots, which kernel it load, disk partition structure.

I found this instruction on the internet, I have no idea if it actually will work

- Connect your LaCie via web
- Connect hidden page [https://IP_LACIE/ssh_controlF.cgi]
- Turn on SSH service
- Open and connect SSH client to LaCie

User: root
Pass: storage [or defaulf of your LaCie]

All page of LaCie webserver are stored in: \usr\local\ipstor\www \usr\local\ipstor\www\html.en

:doh I forgot one thing. Which is for the moment a show stopper
To run the firmware all the binaries in used in the firmware will need to be compiled for an intel processor.
That means it will not be easy to make the firmware run on that device. The web interface and corresponding php scripts will be ok, the problem is the executables, and there are many.

But I always had in back of my mind to port our firmware to intel based devices, so maybe one day it might be available, it would help if someone donates me an intel based lacie
