I can compile a 3.9.5 kernel witj h low level debugging bit an oops error will be visible always

On the 2.6.39.4 kernel the oops error seems to be related to smbd process (notice the line ..process smbd)

debug is enabled in the 3.9.5 kernel
I will compile one with some different setting that may be related to the issue.

I hope that we are not having a hardware issue here (something wrong with the LAN interface card). For wahtever reason it looses the connection between nas and pc

Did you look in the smb.log for error messages ?
