This LED behaviour is to indicate that your raid is synchronizing.
You can see the raid statut with
Code: Select all
cat /proc/mdstat

I am sorry but I gave a wrong erase command, so repeat them with
Code: Select all
 dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/db6
(this one erases fully the content)

Note: there are many errors in your dmesg (disks; rtc0;...). So need first to resolve this point so that you use the last kernel version.

Now all sd[bcde] partitions are empty, you can try try to reboot the nas.
But before rebooting, post this output
Code: Select all
mdadm --detail /dev/md0

After rebooting post again your dmesg output

Re: Problems with raid5

Postby Jocko » Wed Sep 23, 2015 8:49 am

The dmesg seems better but still errors with sda7 (or other disks if there is still the dev node issue)

So post
Code: Select all
cat /proc/partitions

Check the current addons volume
Code: Select all
ls -l /direct-usb
cat /etc/nas_conf_db.xml|grep 'addonsvolume'

What is the current raid status
Code: Select all
mdadm --detail /dev/md0

Just to see if hwclock issue is solved
Code: Select all
hwclock -w -u

---edit--- you should have the hwclock issue

Now we go to clear fs partitions on sd[bcde]

So do this command for each disk sd[bcde]
Code: Select all
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb1
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb2
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb7
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb5

Before rebooting,
- try also to select as new addons volume md0
- post this output I want to check if dev nodes on sda7 are also ok :
Code: Select all
mkdir /tmp/sda7
mount /dev/sda7 /tmp/sda7
ls -l /tmp/sda7/dev/sd[abcde][0-9]

Now restart the nas, and post the outpouts: dmesg, check addonsvol, md0 detail

there's no sd[bcde]1 and sd[bcde]2
are you sure that it's the right command?
