Hello everyone,

I've installed (successfully, thanks to fvd help) the 18.1 version on my LaCie Cloudbox.
I can access it's web interface so it's there !

Althouh the web interface is telling me that the NFS function is up and running, I cannot use it as a file server : it doesn' appear with my network devices on my Windows PC.

What did I do wrong ?

It is not enough ! You have to set a rule with the IP of your windows PC :
- enable NFS on the wanted share
- use the sub-menu "add Ip address of clients" which will create the rule in the export file for your windows PC

Finally I realized that it's not the NFS functionnality that I wanted, but the fact that I could 'see' the NAS under Windows.

In fact the SMB1 service had been disabled by an update from Windows. I re-enable it, and now I can 'mount' the drive under Windows, using its IP address.

Please to note you can install samba 4 on your cloudbox which provides smb2/3 support. Then you may let smb1 disabled on your windows PC

Good suggestion. I'll think of it but ... I didn't find inside the Web Interface how to do it.

You have to load the menu System Management/Setup.
Here you will find a tab AFP/Samba Server where you may upgrade the native samba server to version 4

But as writing in another post, you have first to install a patch...

I have such problem with being able to delete files from server I am on SAMBA in win 10 for some files how to fix Unix network access denied.


Why is it asking me for unix user\rd privileges since i'm logged in as administrator?
