Plugout + LaCie cloudbox + ssd ?

Plugout + LaCie cloudbox + ssd ?

Postby bidule » Fri Jun 24, 2022 2:23 pm

Hello,
I would replace my HDD on a LaCie cloudbox + plugout by a SSD.
Is it possible?
Is there anything I should pay attention to?

As the size of the SSD is not exactly the same as my HDD (980Go vs 1TB) I expect to start from scratch instead of a dd copy.

Thank you!

I see no reason why it would not be possible. Yes start from scratch as formatting the partitions is critical with respect to sector allignment. If partitions are not aligned on sector bounderies this will greatly affect writing speed and may even affect operational lifetime of your ssd
