My Lacie Cloudbox won't boot, it has been running FVDW-SL firmware 24/7 for 2 years and now all of a sudden it doesn't boot. I can't see the Cloudbox when I open the web interface for the router.
If I reboot the device it blinks blue light for maybe 30 - 60 seconds and then it blinks two red lights and then there is no led light and nothing happens. Anyone know how I can figure out what's wrong ?

I think there is an error on the boot sequence.

As this step is done at the end on the boot script that would mean at least the bootloader detects your disk and runs the boot script.

So you need to use the fvdw-sl console and post the outputs.

Now you know where is the issue

So You have a corrupted database and the firmware tries to use a backup database.
I think the content of this backup is not fully supported by the firmware (some data are missing) and for example the firmware fails to configure the nas iface

Then you can not get any access on it !

Now we need to investigate on the nas database side. So need more outputs:

Please to send me by pm (as the database may contain some personnal data) all files beginning by nas_conf_db.*

To get them on your laptop do

Code: Select all: tftp -g -r nas_conf_db.xml ip-of-your-laptop

repeat it for all extensions
The files will be stored in the folder tftp of your laptop

Also get this when trying to get the conf file

root@fvdw-sta-kirkwood:/ # tftp -g -r nas_conf_db.xml 192.168.1.13
tftp: server error: (1) File not found

Is it possible for me to copy my files from sda8 to my laptop for example and do a reinstall of the firmware ? :)
I do have all of the critical files backed up but it would save me some time to get the rest of the files :)

That would mean there is an issue on sda5 partition (corrupted fs ?)

So you can try this

Code: Select all: cd / fvdw-sl-programs

Select the option "Upload and extract glibc mini and tools" and check fs on sda5

Code: Select all: e2fsck -y /dev/sda5

Then try again to mount sda5

Code: Select all: mount /dev/sda5 /sda5 ls -al /sda5/etc

About tftp command I made an error, before retrieving the files you need to change the current directory

Thank you sda5 mounted now. But it's weird I can't find the conf file.
I still get the same error when trying the tftp command while I'm in /sda5/etc but I can't see the file there.

Edit: After looking back I saw the file when I typed it in first, but after running the TFPT command the file is no longer found. It seems before I ran this tftp command it was there. I'm not sure why it disappears after running this command. It's not in the TFTP folder on the laptop. and I got the File not found error when I ran it first.

I also tried the tftp command on another file on /sda8 which was a .txt file I already have backed up, and I got the same error and after that command that file has also disappeared.
