Hi

Currently this can not be done without making many changes on the firmware. ntfs can only be used on USB partitions

Please to note if you had ntfs on the data partition :
- no addon can be used (required a linux partitions)
- read and mainly write speeds will be strongly slower !

Note: I can not imagine a raeson why linux fs can not be used

Hi the main reason to use ntfs is that none of the pc's in my work has linux. network copying is slower than plugin the disk directly to a pc. i need to copy about 2 tb twice a week into the NAS. if windows coud safely write into ext4 partitions can be another solution. it is posible a solution?
thanks for answering.

Hi

Indeed if you have et each time 2tb to backup (new or modified files) you can not use the nas on your LAN even with the better write speed.

But I assume this 2TB contain many unchanged files so you should use the rsync server to backup the data where rsync will update only the new and modified files. Of course the first backup will take a long time but later the backup should be done during a night.

the main reason to extract the disk from the nas and try to copy the info using windows is the amount of 2tb of data is completely new and is copied under demand. twice a week at day light.

Sorry but you want to use a nas as an external disk. :disapprove So it is your issue.

Anyhow, ntfs can not be used on the data volume (see my previous post). Currently I have no time to spend for such request
