Unable to Download Cloudbox Firmware

Unable to Download Cloudbox Firmware

Postby Monman2009 » Thu Jan 16, 2014 7:21 am

Hello

First I would like to thank you guys for the FVDW software. I received a Lacie Cloudbox for Christmas and had accidently formatted it while "playing" around with it. After searching google and trying a few things to restore to factory settings, I stumbled upon this forum and successfully installed the FVDW software and got my cloudbox up and running again on version 15 of your software.......after a few failed attemtps at first ;)

Anyways, I have been unsuccessfully trying to download the cloudbox firmware from the downloads section. It always stops at around 50MB downloaded and errors out. I have tried downloading on a different computer and different browsers with it always ending with the same incomplete download.

I would appreciate some help as I am mostly sure the problem is not from my end since I daily upload and download large files without issues.

Anyways following is my setup:

- Linksys ea4500 wireless router
- Lacie Cloudbox 2TB
- Using Macbook Pro 2011 model running OSX

I don't understand well. How do you get the firmware image if you don't succeed to download it :scratch

Since last October, the forum is hosted on another server. It seems to have less performance than the previous one at least for downloading

Hi Jocko

Thanks for the reply.

I downloaded the console which has the firmware 15.0 within it (from http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1271). However, in the tutorial you mention:

After installation install the 15-0 cloudbox upgrade package using the web interface.
if you do not install the cloudbox 15-0 upgrade then the nas will have some errors in the log files.

I am assuming it means install cloudbox firmware after the initial installation using the one built-in the fvdw console.

I was also wondering if there has been any progress in reverting back to stock lacie OS without any previous backup being made.

As I mentioned in my first post, I had accidentally formatted the drive while snooping around the lacie interface and then messed around with partitions before installing FVDW trying to get it working again. So I am just curious if there is a way to revert back to stock OS.

Any help would be appreciated.

the required partition table you can find on the forum here. But you will need the partition image of the important partitions. I have the partition table information but not the partition images. Maybe another cloudbox owner that made a backup is willing to post them if you ask

Good to know there is some hope to return to stock OS if I ever wanted to. Hopefully someone could share their backups.

Also, as mentioned before, I am still unable to download the cloudbox firmware from your downloads sections to install it on the webinterface. It always errors out and completes a partial download. Is there any other place I could get the file from?

I will post the file chopped in smaller pieces this evening.
Seem that the forum server settings limits uploads to 50 MB per file. (This is a shared server)
I uploaded the file last week but apparently it only took the the first 50MB

as said this evening I will correct this
