Then start fvdw-sl console and select the action "Write fvdw-sl firmware image to disk".

I did it and all works fine :)

At the related step, ask to write the image on sda1.

I did it but like it want so not only sda1 but also sda2 and sd7 i think ;)

After rebooting, you should get now a fresh version 18.1.

You right - all boot OK- but password for telnet was default giveit2me and password for webinterface was well

Check if you get again access on your data.

I DID ! WE DID IT ! Thaaaaaaanks ;) :bananadance :bananadance :bananadance

if yes you can upgrade to version 18.2, but you have to install first a patch for version 18.1 (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3532) and after upgrading to version 18.2, install its roll-up patch (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3532)

I DID: first patch fvdw-sl-18.1-loginPlugout-v3-04jul2021.zip , then install from web interface button 18.2 = root pasword is changed back to default!
and then manual patch 18.2 with last patch: fvdw-sl-18-2-patch05-10feb2022.zip

RESULTS:
Even my samba user name and passwords are like it was = cool :punk
Share Name = Also configured like i did it befor crash = cool :rock
Users Management = Also configured like i did it befor crash = cool :woohoo
Transmission = Also configured like i did it befor crash = cool :thumbup
Web Explorer = is not working like it was before but fck it = cool anyway ;) :snicker

Thanks for all your HELP. I am sending you some donation second time ;)
You make my day and i hope somebody will do it for you as well :please (karma is free) :applause

yes rewrite firmware on sda7 may be done but as you upgraded later to version 18.2, it was not useful to do it on sda2 (if you look at again the current boot.log you may read it uses now sda2 instead of sda1)
