Lacie cloudbox bricked ....

Postby kvzonrise » Mon Sep 08, 2014 4:43 am

Hello,
my first and very bad post :(

i tried to install the fvdw firmware, by erasing the hard drive (manually on my computer) and then mounting it and i try it the clunc way on windows, using the right ip address, but the script never worked.
the window was on the waiting for uboot message all the time. then i try to restart the nas and try again, but nothing.
after that im not having any ip address from my nas so i cannot do anything. I manually added on my dhcp list but still nothing. The nas keep flashing as it is starting but i cant reach it.
Is there any way to solve this?. :corner
best regards

yes there is
use the fvdw-sl console to install the firmware and read the corresponding instruction en help windows carefully
Remarks:
do not use a wireless connection between the pc running the fvdw-sl console and your lan,
furthermore you lan should use ip's in range of 192.168.0.xxx or 192.168.1.xxx
Allow the tftp and clunc and nec programs used by the the fvdw-sl console to bypass your firewall.

Ok, i just try it again. Nothing happens.
I tried on both range of directions on my router through a cable network and in both doesn't work.

The device is not getting any ip address, as if the ethernet interface would not be activated , even if i put manually on the dhcp configuration. i dont even have a firewall or antivirus installed.

Any chance to do something else? like a serial cable connection or restoring the hard drive?.

:please

Hi kvzonrise,

As several members misunderstand how fvdw-sl console works when they use it first. Please, check if you followed this sequence :

- your NAS must be plugged on your LAN (not directly USB plugged in PC ) and switch off
- start fvdw-sl console and select the wanted menu
- Then it opens a network console (nc) to start clunc
- switch on your NAS
So tftp and telnet client console should be available

Well, i must say that i tryed that same steps and didn't work.

I have not bought a usb - ttl cable yet.

With the usb - ttl cable can i re-enable the network interface?

Any other thing to do?.

There is no reason that fvdw-sl console works with others members and not with you.(So it is an issue with your settings)

But you can try this trick viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1902

Ok guys, after some hours cracking my head, i was able to set up everything, clunc, tftp server and all on linux, and the clunc conecction worked at the first try.
Windows was my problem. After that i tried to install, and after some problems and errors, i finally get it working. now i just updated the firmware to 15.3 and i'm happy :D.
Thanks to all.
