yes and no,
Indeed do regularly a scan will take long time and system resource (for example, every hour when you have a large collection)
So the firmware allows only two status : no scan or enable notify.
With notify feature, Twonky doesn't rescan your shared folders but just updates its database in accordance with inotify events (kernel feature). So Twonky uses small resource to do it. :thumbup
Note: but refresh the twonky database may be required sometimes : for example, when you add a lot of files at once : this could overload the inotify queue (so some files will be missing in the database)
So it's a pity that there is an issue between twonky and kirkwood kernel.
