Bricked 5Big Network v2

Tried updating to FVDW some while ago and probably did something wrong. I left the nas alone for a while and now im trying to revive it, plugged a serial cable on the JTAG port but im kinda stuck right now, all i get from serial is random chars like below. Any ideea if this is recoverable ? or how could i rewrite the eeprom via serial interface ?
