Hello !
I'm noticing a huge difference in reading speed when opening a folder that contains a lot of files (6000+).

On Windows 10, the loading is instant and I see all my files, on mac, it takes more than 10 minutes before anything shows up..

Any ideas why ?

The reasons is that windiws is using indexing of the folder content. Seems your mac is not doung that. I am not familiar with mac OS but maybe it is an option you can set.

Several options are already set and some others can not be used because they requires an higher samba version.

Next week I go to examine the other options.

Note: SMB.conf is a volatile file which is overwritten at each nas rebooting or when you edit a share or a user account

Yes I checked all the options used by the firmware and all seems OK: either it sets up the right value as we can find in many how-to or uses the default samba value which is also the advisable value.
So I do not see what it is wrong

Yes all is already done (either using the default value or set them) as your posted documentation except for options available only for upper samba versions but these are minor options.
