Hi FVDW and Jocko,
on "Systemadministration - Installation" I would like to switch to new samba version but get this message:

Aktualisierung erfolglos:__FILE__, hwclock -w -u, err= 1

It doesn`t seem to be a well known linux problem, so I need to ask her for help. What can I do?

I am on 18.1, gues that include all former patches.

To remove the warning, you can run this commandline :

 sed -rie  's#(.*, hwclock)#//\1#g' /usr/htdocs/global/system_DateTime.xml

Note: you got this warning by using the setup menu because after each submitting on this menu, the firmware tries to synchronize the hardware clock with the software clock

Hi Jocko,

i opened the Nas and found one capacitor obviously bled out (1F 2,5V in the centre of the board). I will replace it and come back with results.

Replacing this capacitor was overdue on my device. But it did not solve the error message. There might be other defect components which I cannot identify.

Just to think about the future:

Are you still working on porting fvdw to RaspberryPis? Especially Raspi 4 is amazingly fast and has USB 3.0 interfaces. It could be a hardware replacement for our Nas.

We have suport for rasp 1 and 2, not yet for 4, but if someone sends me a rasp 4 I think it should be not a too big issue to get it running as it remains an arm based board. Just need to check if it is compatible with armv5 code.(a quick check on internet seems to confirm that binary compiled for armv5 will run on v7 and v8. That means only a suitable kernel would be required and boot setup.
