Hello,
I am trying to get our Lacie 5Big Network 2 up and running in my work place. I can see it on the Lacie Network assistant. However when I click to go into the dashboard it is just holding on the loading page and I can't get any further. The current firmware on the machine is: 1.2.90. Are there any newer firmwares out? I would like to get this device up and running. If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks

You are using lacie firmware, unfortunate my knowledge of that is limited to help you with this. It seems the boot script is not fully completed for whatever reason. To debug you will need ssh access to the nas (if ssh works). There is also a method to reset the device to factory defaults, see the manual.
However you could also consider to install fvdw-sl firmware ;)

Thanks for the reply. Can you please explain to me what your firmware is?
I have tried updating the Lacie firmware but it failed.

I am having trouble getting it working. It is not very clear on which file I should be selecting to put the firmware on a Big5 Network 2. Thanks

I assume you mean which standalone kernel to select.
You need to use the kirkwood standalone kernel.

I have tried that but for some reason it doesn't copy the files on all the way and won't connect.
