if you use fvdw-sl 17-0 then you can use the web interface to create raid5

if you use fvdw-sl 16-1 or 16-1 you can use the raid tutorials in the firmware/download topic https://plugout.net/viewforum.php?f=7

Actually they are in the "archives" sub topic in that topic

after upgrade to 17-0 in the disk setup menu (there is a button: make raid volume)

You may need to close and start your browser again to clear caches

No you can use no longer the manual way and I removed the tutorials. Indeed if you use these tutorials, you create a raid with settings not optimized.

I am not a MAC user but I think you will find how to connect to your AFP share here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204445
