Recover Lacie 5big network v2

Postby sard1091 » Tue Oct 25, 2016 10:53 pm

Hello,

I request your help please to recover a Lacie 5big network v2, I want to use and has all new disks but when you start the device this does not load the firmware and LaCie Network Assistant does not recognize, I think the firmware is installed on disks, because I have another functional unit and when you put the disks 5big network 2 that is not working LaCie Network Assistant recognizes and I can enter the dashboard.

I appreciate that you please share me the picture raid of this device and the most stable firmware, and the software I use.

there several topics on this forum describing how to do this when using our firmware or recovering lacie firmware. Did you read them, if so please explain why you can not use that information.

Ps if you have a working set of disks I suggest you clone them ;)

thanks for the reply, I have seen several posts that talk about this, but I do not see where to download the firmware or fvdw tool, please excuse me is that I am very new to this and would greatly appreciate it if you could explain this to me step by step.

Also, I want to make the process from 0 because another unit can not use because it is busy.

Hi

with fvdw-sl you have a ssh server on port 22 and the default login is 'root' (pwd: 'giveit2me').

To use the NAS name as host with your connection, you need first set the workgroup on the NAS (lan setup menu): it must be the same as your laptop.

Otherwise you need to use the IP of the NAS

Thanks friend, entering my partition table is in msdos and not on Linux as shown in the tutorial, I can do to reconfigure the partitions ?, use 5x2tb = 10TB RAID.

So you did not set the additional disks for fvdw-sl firmware as you still have lacie partition table on sdb (and I assume it is the same thing on sd[cde].

So next step is to set a new partition on these disks sd[bcde] as described here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1271#p7900

Reinstall the firmware and delete partitions on all disks to use the suggested tutorial but when trying again, this is the information thrown by putty.
