Web-explorer

Web-explorer

Postby stamy » Fri Apr 01, 2016 1:55 pm

Hello, i am very glad that this firmware is working so fine. The 5BIG2 NAS is running fine since weeks :)
The problem is that i cannot install web-explorer because the NAS is not connected to Internet (behind a proxy).

Is there a way to install the Web-explorer manually somehow ?

Thank you very much for any help.

Hi stamy,

I don't think so
usually any proxy server opens the port 80 and then your NAS should be able to connect to plugout

And it do it:
Code: Select all
159.245.xx.xxx plugout.net - [01/Apr/2016:15:41:31 +0200] "POST /ucp.php?mode=login HTTP/1.1" 200 7211 "localhost" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.2; rv:2.0.1) aDDonBot Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1"

I think the issue is the proxy may changes on some headers and then the script fails to find the expected data to download the package.

1/ To valid Internet access: what output do you get with
Code: Select all
 wget -dU "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.2; rv:2.0.1) aDDonBot Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1" http://plugout.net -O-

2/ when you try to install web-explorer what is the error message and the error code ?

Note: a manual install is not easy (it is not just a simple untar command but need to set some others settings)

Hello,

thank you very much for your help.
In the mean time i was able to install the plugin, and web-explorer is working.

Now i can see the RAID array under the share list on the web explorer page.
When i put an external drive (NTFS) i can see it as a samba share on Windows explorer, but not on web explorer despite i activated alternative usb mount and checked the share settings.

Should we be able to see an USB external connected disk under web explorer (like we are for internal raid aray) ?

Thank you :)

You need to read some help pages...:
- a NTFS disk can never be mounted as an internal disk. So activated alternative usb mount is useless.
- on standard mode, a NTFS partition is mounted as a share on the addons volume (so I assume on your raid1 volume)
- like any shares, you need to enable web-explorer access on this usb share (by default it is not activated)

Otherwise: there are some patches for version 16.1 which fix some usb issues. So you should also install them.
