Before you start looking for additional applications, make discover the features of fvdw-sl !!!! fvdw-sl is not an empty shell

Samba server is already present and also there is smb tools... Same thing with webmin, why do you want to use it, the web-interface allows to manage fully the NAS! :doh

About bacula,

I don't think that you can do it yourself and I think that 5big2 has not enough resource to do it (small cpu performances)

But you have a rsync server, and also a backup feature. With rsync server, you can easily plan backup job on the remote hosts without using many resources on the 5big2 except when a backup runs.

About apt-get basically we don't use it for handy reasons and fiability with our kernel version (custom compile version). (apt-get is for use with Debian)
and also there is no enough free space on the fs partition to install a few packages.

So we discourage to use it and we ever ensure compatibility when we upgrade the firmware.
