Hello everybody,

Recently we had to recover our Lacie 5big Network vs2 using this forum. Once we were able to get data out (from md4 raid to another NAS) we installed last version of fvdw-sl firmware (16.0) in your NAS.
I find this firmware really good but I think it should hide user passwords. Even you are logged with admin user (admin-nas), an admin never should be able of knowing about real passwords and they are shown in plain text under User Account menu.
I think they should be shown as asterisks and I hope they arent saved in plain text neither internally.
It's just my opinion to improve this firmware. I was checking changelog of next releases and I didnt see anything about hiding user passwords in dashboard.

Hi jpcozar,

You can hide the user password, here: System management >Setup >Firmware interface

Ok thank you!

PS: Anyway, I think that this option shouldnt be there and by default all user passwords should be hidden and encrypted, even for admin, specially in a corporate environment that it is when my NAS is.

Hi jpcozar,

In next version , a user can change directly the password of his account and this one is encrypted by the firmware.

Then there is no way to known the user password after changing
