So I assume you do not want to erase the written disks for the moment.
Then I propose we are gong to prepare an empty 2TB barracuda to contain firmware and data and always to be used in slot 1. This disk can never be removed

Ok ?

@jocko

I think we should first prepare the disk that will be in his nas, the one now is a company disk he has to give back so all files we install we have to do again afterwards if we use the existing "trial" disk.

@draftmancorp.

Ok take all disks out of the nas and put the empty 2 TB barracuda in slot 1.
Start the fvdw-sl-console and choose install fvdw-sl firmware
pretend that your nas is a Lacie nwsp2
select the standalone kernel we made for the 5big2 this was kernel 102 if I remember well
This must be in the tftp directory, also be sure the 106 kernel is in there. We need it after installing the firmware to replace the nwsp2 kernel in sda6.
So do not close the telnet window when the installation has competed, we need to write the 106 kernel to sda6 first before reboot.
When installing the firmware, the disk id is sda, it is not an original disk so we do not need to make a backup, do not use gpt for this disk.
let us know what you are doing and what progress is
