Few problems with fvdw

I have a LaCie Network Space 2 with the nwsp2 fvdw-sl 11.0 firmware on it, and i ran into a few problems while setting it up.
At first, i can't see the files when using Windows 7. I activated the NFS server but it doesn't do anything.
My first problem is solved, the NAS was in the wrong workgroup.

Second, i have a Samsung PS50C7700 plasma tv, with DLNA support, and i tried every single server supported by this firmware but none of them was seen by the TV. Is there any workaround to get this working?

Last but not least, is there any way to access the whole hard disk by USB? That will solve the DLNA problem aswell, because if it will work that way, i can just hook it up to my Samsung TV.

well my Philips LCD TV see all the three servers (twonky, mediatomb and minidlna). especially the minidlna has adaptations for samsumg TV. needles to say that you have to install the servers and have some media to share.
If it then doesn't work then either your plasma TV isn't compatible with uPnp or the network connection of that TV is setup wrong.

About your last question. In principle it could be done by making a disk image that takes all the space of your harddisk, but making a disk image for a 2TB disk will take a very long time. If you consider that you better buy an external usb disk instead of a NAS ;)

Better check the network setup of your TV think that there is the problem, the media servers on the NAS work as confirmed by many people

I can confirm that mediatomb, twonky and minidlna work as upnp servers with the default settings.

I'm back from my vacation now, and still searching for an solution.
My Samsung TV is DLNA certified, so 'MiniDLNA' should work for me(?), but it still doesn't.

Isn't there some other, Samsung supported, DLNA server for the Network Space 2?

Edit: I just found out that Twonky Mobile from my Android phone works to my Samsung TV, even if i use files from the NAS, but still the TV doesn't see the NS2 in first place.

Edit 2: Even if i use Twonky server from my MacBook Pro i can use it from my Samsung TV, but still can't see the NS2.. :(

Edit 3: Maybe if i update Twonky to the latest version my TV will see it, how can i do that on the NS2?

sorry that I can not help you hamcloak, I can not reproduce your problem and evrything here works fine on my LCD TV
if your windows 7 on a PC you should be nbe able to see twonky as well

If you can not see it either on a windows PC then it must be a setting problem in your network. Maybe your router has set some filtering preventing use of certain ports
If you can see it on your windows7 pc then it must be a problem with your TV
The twonky 6 version in fvdw-sl-11-0 should be capable to serve your TV and i think also miniDLNA

Yea I tried every single server included with the firmware.
I can see the Twonky server in Windows 7, but not on the TV.

When i use the Twonky server on my MacBook or Android phone the TV sees it, but the NAS still doesn't show up.
My TV is even on the supported device list on the Twonky website.. I am really confused right now where to look at, the TV works well and the Twonky server too.

Is there a package available to update Twonky to the last version on the NS2?

Look at what port your twwonky server on your iphone uses. If different from 9000, try using this port: change the port settings set in the Twonky server of the firmware

The ports are the same, the server for Mac also uses 9000.

if windows 7 can see it then your TV should be able to see it you would expect. The only think I can think of is a problem in your network. Is this TV wireless connected to your LAN ?
Ps the webinterface of twonky isusing port 9000 but that has nothing to do with detecting it by a Upnp client.

You are right FVDW, port 9000 is only used for the web twonky interface. :?

Note : Problem with Samsung TV and DLNA seems common (make a search with google)
