Here your previous post
I installed the FVDW-SL firmware on my LaCie Network Space 2 today on a 1.5TB hard drive.
But i have 200GB movie files on a USB hard drive, and now i want to transfer them.
I plugged in the hard drive in the front USB port on my LaCie, but if i want to use the backup function it will just freeze.
It says 'Executing action' and stays on it. Is there any way to fix this?

Sorry to hear that you have problems with backup.

I just made an additional test with my nwsp2 and it works correctly.

Some additional questions to understand your problem:
What firmware version do you use?

Note : Before version 10.1, if the filename contains ASCII characters not UTF8 encoding, Backup Menu froze when it is loaded or you select a subfolder.

What is the format your USB drive?

Do you have access to the USB share from your computer?

Note: Are you sure about the message "Executing action" because, in principle, this message is never generated by the firmware :?: :?:

Before, did you create an image disk using usb-extras menu ? And check the USB mode. You can plug your pc in the back usb port only if the device mode is enabled.
