Me again (sigh)

Hi

I thought my problems had - with your patient help - been resolved.

However in the meantime something seems to have gone awry :( I'm repeatedly getting the message "Windows cannot access \\fvdwsl-base\" every time I try to bring up my NAS folders in Windows Explorer.

Yet Explorer is seeing Minidlna (the only media server I have running on the NAS) under 'Network Locations'. And I can successfully ping the NAS IP address from my desktop Windows computer. If I click "Diagnose" below Windows's error-message it fails to identify any problem. I have rebooted both the NAS and my router, to no avail.

I just don't get it. Are you able to suggest what might be causing this very frustrating problem?

Use the ip address in explorer
Code: Select all
\\ip-of-nas

Seems updating of list of devices in your lan is not working.
This update is done by the "master browser" which is one of the devices in your lan that gets this task assigned by windows.
