I want to buy Seagate Barracuda LP Green 2TB (Model ST2000DL003) for NS2. And I found out that it has advanced format 4Kb per sector (not 512 bytes as you wrote in the installation guide).
Are these advanced format HDDs suitable for fvdw-sl firmware upgrade?

It's good news, as far as I understand these models differ by cash 34Mb and 64Mb.

Is it possible to use a smaller harddrive in the nwsp2 classic?
The nwsp2 2tb is currently the same price as a 2tb drive, so i'll use the 2 tb in my pc.
Then i ll have a spare NAS without drive. Can i use a 250 gb drive for example?

edit: ok not cheaper, samepriced
edit2: yeah i know totally offtopic ;)

For doing some tests, I used a 80 GB drive !!!!

So no issue with your drive but what may be the need for a NAS with a small size :?:
