Deleted a share , where are my files now?

Hi!

I deleted a share. In the share there was some files inside (aprox 30Gb). How do I recover the free space because I hadn't recovered the 30GB used by te files when I deleted the share?

Was I suppose to delete the files prior deleting the share? :shocked

:thinking

Hi raidsm,

No, the firmware should delete the files at the same time as it removes the share.
if used space has not been released I assume that the firmware failed to delete them :scratchand it should send a warning in this case :scratch

So first test check if the files are still here :
Code: Select all
ls -a /share/1000/deletedsharename

Note: if you had used hard symlink on them they are not deleted up to you remove the related hard symlinks. But I don't think it is your case.

I checked the delete share function and indeed no warning is sent if it fails to delete the share folder.

only on debug mode, you have a trace in the syslog file: /var/log/messages

I don't think that : pie chart is rebuilt at each time you load the menu.
