Yes the question is does the mediaserver supports the file. Upgrading Twonky is in principle not to difficult all files can be found in the the twonky media share. However the newer versions seems to use a different name let the system now it is running. As result the webinterafce page of our firmware does not see if it is running. I tried a while ago a version 6.0.30 but I did not complete tests with because of other priorities. Also the fact that i is not freeware is for many users a roadblock.
Did anyone tried the minidlna mediaserver included in the firmware to stream these MKV files ? (In principle minidlna is supporting it)
I think many mediaservers support MKV streaming, but some players misunderstand the stream description and as a result give out a “unknown format error”. It leads to an annoying situation when server and player are able to work with MKV, but you can not watch a movie
I don’t know why, but Samsung Smart TVs have such problem, - they perfectly play MVK from USB flash and some PC servers, but not from many NAS’es. And I’ve read that last releases of Twonky allow to apply Samsung configuration to solve this problem. So I need the Twonky and also believe that I’m not the one.
Yesterday I successfully installed your firmware. I’ll study it in several days, but the first impressions are the extremely positive.
THANKS!I understand that you are too busy this another important problems, but,
PLEASE, integrate into the next firmware update the actual trial release of Twonky.
Or may be after installation of last Twonky I can link auto start script “twonkymedia.sh” into some location to enable autostart? :?:
May you explain how to do this link?
