Hi!
As I can solve the permissions problem when I access the ftp service? On the website of NAS I leave with full access set but then in windows, for example, only the ftp folder lets me copy her but I can not do anything else.
And for newcomers, there is the possibility of any configuration of a tutorial to configure website of NAS using this firmware?
Thank you very much, it's a great job.
(Sorry for my English, I avail myself of translators)

I am sorry but I don't understand you.

if you use google translate, use basic sentences.

Note: explorer app in Windows is never a good FTP client, so use a real ftp client like filezilla.

For FTP server there is already a detailed help page.

I'm sorry, and thank you very much for responding. I'll try with FileZilla.
Greetings!

I get the message "550 CHMOD 777 Permission denied" even using filezilla.

Indeed, chmod command is not allowed by default with the ftp server on fvdw-sl.
ftp is not a safe protocol and we do not allow these command types.
If you want to change some permissions you need to use a ssh access

But why do you want to do it ? :scratch
As all files stored on the shares are permissions 666 (and folder 777) So change them won't fix your access issue if you have it.

Let's see if I can explain. Using the original firmware LaCie within me my local network hard drive folders appear and I can do whatever I want with the files inside, copy, delete, reproduce, rename ... But I can just copy and nothing else using this firmware (FvdW-sl)

if you can copy a file then you have full permissions on the file :scratch and so delete, rename, read... and all fvdw-sl's users don't have your issue.

So first detail :
- what OS do you use?
- what application do you use to get access on the nas files?
- what share type do you create (public, private) and for the last case what permissions do you set ?
- how do you copy the files?

Note: maybe if you write with your native Language (Spanish) I understand you better.

Bueno, vale!

Well currently you need to forgot this way.
So destroy the network shares created by this way.

In explorer window, go to the network item and you should see the nas. If it is still missing after refreshing the window that means that your PC and the Nas do not have the same workgroup.
=> go to the lan setup menu of fvdw-sl web gui and set as workgroup the PC one.

After changing it you should see the nas and if you click on it, explorer will list the available shares. According the share type (public/private). With private shares, you need to use a login (<=> user accounts set in the user menus). The user account will get permissions set on this share (read only or full access)
