Macbook user question

Hi.
As wrote a month ago I change the Hard Disk into a Lacie Network Space 2.
Now the the hard disk is a 3 TB WD Red. Installed without problem. :woohoo

My main notebook is a Macbook (Core 2 Duo) with SSD and OSX 10.9.

My 3 questions are:

1. When I try to watch a video file with VLC the video start but after few second it stops for 10 to 15 second.
If I'm connected with the wireless card (54 Mbps) the timing are as described, with LAN (100 Mbps) it happens, but the stop are shorter.
I tried to connect the server as SMB, NFS but the result is the same.
I tried also with media server, but not all files are compatible, so is not a good solution.
CPU and network are not overloaded.
I read that on the forum that maybe future release will integrate time machine support, so also AFP server?
Do you think it will solve my problem?
ps with original Lacie firmware and hard disk this kind of problem appear only with fullHD video, with wireless connection and about a couple of time on a 2 hour movie.

2. When I want to move one file from transmission folder to public folder, the file transit into pc. There is a way to let them move from one folder to the other without pass into pc?
This is probably a real newbie question, but I'd like to know more.

3. When I try to tag file with colors, they stay for a second and then disappear. They seems to be signed (right click say they are) but is not shown.
Is a problem with the file created? (I mean the file that contein the tag)

Thank you

I hope that this is the right place to post...
If not please move it into the proper place.

Hi,

1)
My home is a full mac environment and I haven't any performance problem with the NAS (original hard disk). I'm using NFS only over wifi & ethernet.
Did you check your NAS speed ? Upload and Download file from/to your NAS (at least a 100mb file) ? What's the speed ?

2)
I don't understand. If you move a file from a NAS folder to another folder on the NAS your folder does't transit via your computer.

3)
Do you mean the Mac OS folder's tag color ? I didn't tried but it must but not supported by the nas.

Thank you for the quick response.

1. Now I'm moving a file from server with wireless and stay above 3 MB/s. The server is connected in SMB mode.
Also FTP is working fine, I use it also with mobile phone, to move files.
I don't know any benchmark software to test automatically.
Forgive me but I wrote wrong, I wasn't able to connect over NFS. :twak to me.
I'm trying without success, maybe I'm missing some firewall rule, or pc setting.
I'll try again.
( nfs://mj/share/1000/public --> Volume don't exist on server
nfs://192.168.0.23--> you don't have priviledge to connect.
ip added with full access
Port 111 (TCP and UDP) and 2049 (TCP and UDP) for the NFS server open on firewall.
Missing something?)

I was thinking on a Mac problem because with a Windows pc everything was fine.

2. Moving time from share/1000/tr-downloads to share/1000/public is different based on my connection with server.
So that's why I wrote that.

3. On my test sometimes was working, maybe is just a smb problem, that can be solved with NFS connection.

I will let you know when I'll be able to connect it.
Thank you

SMB performance are very poor. That's why I switched to NFS too :)
