You need first to detect if you have a nwsp1 or a nwsp2 : fvdwsl console doesn't work with a nwsp1 to install the firmware or get a telnet access.
If you have a nwsp1, you must install manually the firmware.
The easy way to set it : a nwsp1 have only 1 USB port and a nwsp2 has 2 usb port (front and back side).
To use the fvdwsl console you must enable the dhcp server on your ISP box (ip range at least upto 252) and the IP Lan must match 192.168.0.xx or 192.168.1.xx
