Adding a new DDNS service

Hi,
I saw that recently dyndns.org has established a pay-mode for the simplest domain registrations.

There's another site, dyndns.it, which is still free for a single account, but this service doesn't appear in the list of available service in the firmware.

Would it be possible to add it, so that I could set up my NAS to access it?

I also saw that dyndns.it offers a "compatibility" mode with dyndns.org, just by changing a DNS IP, which ensures that those ones who don't have dyndns.it available in the list of DDNS services can still work. But this functionality is available for 1 week only, then you have to pay, so it's "useless".

Thanks,
MDI

Hi mdi,

Thank for this information.

Before adding this DDNS provider, we need first to check if it's a 'valid service' and wait for a few users' feedbacks.

Add a new proviser, it's not only add the provider's url. Indeed each provider has its own update way : updating url (and not the url where you set manually your host) , authentication type, what is the request content having to be sent.

So we need to find these informations so that the firmware can handle this new provider.

We will do some google search but if you have some information thank you for sending them.

Hi Jocko,
unfortunately I don't have details about it, sorry about that :(

But thank you for clarifying the topic, I was expecting something like that but I wasn't sure.

I will look and maybe get an account on any of the available services, so please don't take my request as a priority.

Thank you,
MDI
