I had a lot of issues for a year with my 1T seagate barracuda drive (Barracuda 7200.12) , from the NS2.
It was already send for services. After I received it back same issues.
- Clicks
- Long startup time
I upgraded from the lacie firmware to fvdw-sl firmware. First it looked OK but the clicks and long startup time came back.

But I upgraded the firmware of the drive it self!

How to:
Check your device model and serial number and Firmware version in disk setup-> SMART->view all SMART information
Check whether new firmware version is available:
https://apps1.seagate.com/downloads/req ... kie=en_US_

Take your drive out of the NS2. Shutdown PC. Connect drive using sata to your PC. Power up PC.

Install the seagate disk firmware.

I updated the firmware!
Disk is completely silent now. Startup is much faster! :bananadance

Hope this can help you too!!!
