Does MiniDLNA require a public share? Or can the public assess be removed with MiniDLNA still being able to share?

Since there's no user for the MiniDLNA server (I think) and I expect it's not running as root, the answer is probably YES, the DLNA shares need to be public?

the shares don't need to to be public, Minidlna can also use private shares
