and it works. This directive must be set on global section
The following options must be set in the global smb.conf section and won't take effect when set per share.

But need to check if there won't be an issue with TM share because bigSur wants to set some permissions when it creates a TM backup...

a TM backup is now running. all seems to be ok but need to wait complete and try another one after disconnect/reconnect the TM disk to be sure

I need to know how to make the config persistent (at reboot the setting is being lost)

The issue seems to be fixed.
And I succeeded to make two TM backup even after unmounting/ remounting the TM disk (which was the issue with the former samba4 version). BigSur does not warm about permissions on the created sparsebundle folder (now 777 whereas previously it sets 700)

So I go to release a new patch this afternoon

You can't because the fw overwrites it on several events and not only on nas rebooting

Please wait one hour to get the new patch
