Is this log problem also present on all platforms?

I want to run my NAS 24/365. Are the log files started at boot time?
Is it a good idea to have a cron job to do some housekeeping with the log files?

Are there other services writing never ending logs?

yes, this problem when copying more then 50 thousand files is present on all supported devices, except nwsp1 and spd8020.
To solve you can install the posted rcS file. We will release patch.
