a new kernel, this one is the latest stable release of the linux kernel, 4.3.3
Behavior seems the same as 4.2.5 regarding up and download speed compared with 3.14.2
So no improvement in write but significant improvement in read.
The seg fault with the find command caused by /proc/usbconf is solved in this kernel

please test, remember this is beta testing so there is some risk.
Installation same procedure as for 4.2.5

--edit there is a new kernel with a patch for bug in mv643xx driver

Done so far.

The speeds are even slightly higher than in 4.2.5.

New kernel 4.3.3 installed without problems, I'll test it tonight and post an update.

Ext2, ext3,ext4,xfs,reiser, fat32,ntfs(slow writing!).
If you want this stick also in a windows pc and file size limit of 4GB is no problem then fat32 is a good choice for an usb stick.
Also use md-dos partition table. (No real need for gpt as size will be lower then 2TB.) gpt is not supported by several devices, forcexample my car media system doesn't recognize usb sticks with gpt partition table

Version 4.3.3 looks much better:

Rsync restore backup ran without problems:
Number of files: 18653
Number of files transferred: 17807
Total file size: 47403553464 bytes
Total transferred file size: 47403553464 bytes
Literal data: 47403553464 bytes
Matched data: 0 bytes
File list size: 454299
File list generation time: 0.001 seconds
File list transfer time: 0.000 seconds
Total bytes sent: 341773
Total bytes received: 47410529925

sent 341773 bytes received 47410529925 bytes 12332129.46 bytes/sec
total size is 47403553464 speedup is 1.00

I mentioned a difference to kernel version 3.14.2 concerning the fan control (2big2):
With kernel version 4.3.3 the fan runs always at full speed, with kernel version 3.14.2 the fan speed was only as high as necessary.
