Is 7zip compatible with xfvdw-sl-16-0-phn-30dec2014.part1

Postby pauls » Mon Mar 30, 2015 11:11 am

I have downloaded the three parts of xfvdw-sl-16-0-phn-30dec2014.part1.rar for the 8020 on two different computers and each time 7zip reports that the part1 file is broken when I try to extract. Is it me, 7zip or the file?
Also what is the "standard" donation for the software?
Thanks

Hi pauls,

I just downloaded and uncompressed the package for phn without issue. So there is something wrong on your side.

Note: I used winrar to uncompress the package.

About donation, you can find a paypal donate button on the header which allows you to send a donation either from your paypal account or with any credit card.

Hmmm....
Puzzled now. I used IE rather than Firefox and Winzip/RAR rather than 7zip downloaded them again and I still get errors!
----------
Extracting to "C:\Users\email\AppData\Local\Temp\wzacb3\"
Use Path: yes Overlay Files: yes
Extracting xfvdw-sl-16-0-phn-30dec2014.bin
Error: Bad data in file "C:\Users\email\AppData\Local\Temp\wzacb3\xfvdw-sl-16-0-phn-30dec2014.bin"
Irrecoverable Error: Bad data detected.

Any ideas guys?

This should work with winzip :scratch

Here the md5 sum of the packages
Code: Select all
xfvdw-sl-16-0-phn-30dec2014.part1.rar      afba5e92b5006d0198b386c55dd17b6b
xfvdw-sl-16-0-phn-30dec2014.part2.rar      6c3a3ad280f453ee5e34401c4515a298
xfvdw-sl-16-0-phn-30dec2014.part3.rar      4d4fc756c36f28340e93047777dcf15f

So compare the md5sum with your downloaded files.

If you have a windows OS, you can use winMD5free

Note: I advise you not to use a wireless connection.

Thanks for the help. I found that the checksum for part 2 was incorrect. So this time I downloaded the files one after the other and not all at the same time and it worked perfectly.
Thanks again for the help and I have donated.
