So I downloaded the manual and installed the new drive in a Ubuntu system as drive 2.
Use entered these commands :

sudo fdisk /dev/sdb
n

But then the first sector is 2048, not 1.
what is wrong. How can I resolve ?

I bought a new HDD (seagate barracda 1 TB) and wanted to install this drive in my LaCie NS1.
So I downloaded the manual and installed the new drive in a Ubuntu system as drive 2.
Use entered these commands :
But then the first sector is 2048, not 1.
what is wrong. How can I resolve ?

Found the solution.
Switch to sectors use u in fdisk
